He wanted to transform the economy so that China exceeds the West in only a few years. But his reforms in agriculture and industry were complete failures, causing the worst starvation in history. He forced the Chinese in a totalitarian regime, the Maoism. The number of deaths outnumbered the sum of Hitlerism and Stalinism. He dissimulated the massacres to the rest of the world, under positive slogans such : \u201cThe long march, the great leap forward, the hundred flowers\u201d and especially the \u201ccultural revolution\u201d. As a mass executioner he is unmatched.
