MAO ZEDONG liberated China from colonizing nations, making it an independent and communist country. He wanted to transform the economy so that China exceeds the West in only a few years. But his reforms in agriculture and industry were complete failures, causing the worst starvation in history. He forced the Chinese in a totalitarian regime, the Maoism. The number of deaths outnumbered the sum of Hitlerism and Stalinism. He dissimulated the massacres to the rest of the world, under positive slogans such : “The long march, the great leap forward, the hundred flowers” and especially the “cultural revolution”. As a mass executioner he is unmatched. After his death, the regime was relaxed to allow capitalistic reforms.
